Getting Even Better: Bypass-Taxiway Construction Schedule – New Closure Date

Raleigh Exec is enhancing jetport operations with a new bypass-taxiway, and the second phase of construction is now underway. Check below for the latest construction schedule and any potential disruptions, which will be updated as needed.

Runway 3 and 21 has been displaced — beginning on April 28, 2025 — from the existing 6,500 feet to a temporary length of 5,514 feet. The runway is expected to be operational to its full length and be reopened on June 28, 2025, at 7:00 a.m., though the actual reopening date depends on weather conditions during construction.

Runway 3 and 21 will close overnight on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. (EDT) until Monday, June 30, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. (EDT) to remove the displacement and will reopen to its full length that morning.
